The school campus of Windermere School UK is located on the shore of a beautiful quiet lake: at leisure, children like to walk along the coast, often engage in water sports – canoeing, Kayaks, yachts, swimming, active games.

Boarding is available for children from the age of 8 years. There are many options to choose, and we aim to find the right balance that suits each child and family. Parents may select from full and weekly boarding, as well as flexi boarding for a night or two each week.
 
Our three boarding houses offer a home away from home experience, with comfortable lounges to relax with friends, wide screen TVs and kitchens. There are quiet areas for prep, with a schedule of academic tutors each evening providing specialist subject tuition.

Full boarders are able to make the most of their time with us; forging abiding friendships and gaining independence as well as knowledge. Weekly and flexi boarders benefit from the extended day too, with time and space to participate in a host of extra-curricular activities, pursue their studies and socialise with others.

The weekend programme is packed with trips to the theatre, tours of the area, shopping expeditions, plus leisure activities such as bowling and roller-blading. Closer to home, we offer regular craft workshops, watersports activity sessions, sports (including sporting fixtures) and games.

Evening entertainment such as discos, barbecues, quizzes, films and karaoke are a regular feature, with everyone encouraged to join in the fun and games. We do also understand the importance of home life and students are free to go home on weekends whenever they are able by arrangement with their House.

Windermere School students live in a cozy, well-equipped campus residence. Separate blocks are provided for boys and girls, and the age parameter is taken into account when resettlement. The rooms offer an impressive view of the lake, are equipped with all necessary furniture (bed, a place for independent work, storage of things) and home appliances.

In each residence there lives a senior educator: together with his assistants he follows the observance of cleanliness, order, discipline, helps students solve household, administrative and other issues.
