This Cambridge boarding school welcomes girls from Year 5 upwards into boarding community at Mary Ward House. Set in tranquil surroundings, close to the centre of Cambridge, St Mary’s School is a safe, secure place in which every girl is valued, supported and inspired. Girls from Year 5 to 13 live together in one house, creating a family-like atmosphere with the older students supporting younger girls. This girls only boarding school offers beautifully furbished facilities, with comfortable bedrooms and spacious communal areas. With students from over 15 different countries, life at Mary Ward House is enriched by diversity and our girls enjoy living in Cambridge, a culturally vibrant city, with a long history of learning.

Academic life

The 2016/2017 GCSE and A Level cohorts demonstrated academic diversity by performing consistently well in public examinations across a remarkably broad range of subjects. At GCSE level a fifth of students achieved all A*/A grades or equivalent (grades 9 – 7 under the new system), and 86% of all papers were awarded at A* – B. Sixth Form students’ results were equally celebrated, with a quarter of students achieving all A*/A grades, and almost three-quarters of all papers awarded at A* – B
