Designated as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence for academic achievement, Amerigo Lexington offers students exciting opportunities to receive real-world experience in a variety of disciplines. Through the Exemplar Scholar program, students have access to accelerated math and science courses and exposure to invaluable career mentorships. The four-year Air+Space Academy—one of America’s leading Aeronautic and Aerospace-based educational programs—incorporates intensive classroom learning with hands-on flight training, camps, and competitions. With an elite Fine Arts department, competitive athletics, and a service-focused foundation, Lexington Catholic prepares a student’s mind, spirit, and body for success in a challenging global community.

Each student is encouraged to discover his or her own potential through a challenging curriculum, which encompasses experiences both in and outside the classroom. Preparation of the students for responsible participation in civic life and service to their community is a part of the school’s task. Learning to evaluate, to research and to think critically is necessary if the student is to assume these responsibilities. The diversity at Lexington Catholic, with 25% of students being non-Catholic, encourages the growth of a rich and diverse community of thought and beliefs. Upon graduation from Lexington Catholic, the students should have the tools necessary to function as adults fully-qualified to carry out their civil and moral responsibilities.

About the school

Lexington Catholic High School is located on a 17-acre campus in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky. Lexington Catholic features technologically advanced, Wi-Fi enabled classrooms and computer labs. The school also features physics, biology and chemistry labs, student library, art studios, music and choral practice rooms, 440-seat theater with professional equipment, college and career counseling center and advanced athletic facilities.

Dormitories are located on the 70 acre campus of a private Liberal Arts university ranked in the top 15% nationally. Students have access to all of the campus amenities including campus library, dining hall, computer labs, recreation facilities, gymnasium and abundant outdoor space. The university is walking distance to downtown Lexington and near all of the shops and restaurants. Founded in 1780, Transylvania was the first university in Kentucky and among the oldest in the United States.

College Dormitory
Students will live in the Poole Residence Hall. This traditional style, two story dormitory has Wi-Fi access and a private wing exclusive to Amerigo students. Students will enjoy meals in the dining hall and academic tutorials in the university classrooms. The safe, convenient location has all of the comforts of home and is just steps away from all the campus and downtown Lexington has to offer.

Single-gender, double occupancy rooms with semi-private en-suite bathrooms shared between two rooms. Students will live with a roommate and will be supervised by professional dorm parents 24/7. Students will have access to an academic suite for structured independent and small group study, education technology suite to support academic coursework, recreational suite for relaxation and socialization and high-speed Wi-Fi. Security policies and procedures are in place for optimal student safety.
