Introduction

Heath Mount is a thriving, independent coeducational prep-prep and prep school for children aged from 3 to 13. Our school is set on 40 acres within the idyllic Woodhall Park estate, near Ware and Hertford. Pupils at Heath Mount School enjoy an education at one of the oldest prep schools in the country, and our strong traditional approach to academic excellence is combined with a forward-thinking approach to learning.

Heath Mount children gain entrance to senior schools throughout the UK including Eton, Harrow, Radley, Winchester, Benenden, Brighton College, Haileybury, Felsted, Bishop’s Stortford College, The Leys, Uppingham, Oundle, Rugby, Ampleforth, Tudor Hall and Stowe.

About the school

Heath Mount is set in 40 acres of the beautiful Woodhall estate, Hertfordshire. We benefit from our own forest school set in acres of woodland, and an all-weather astro turf.
Sports Pitches
The spacious central plateau houses rugby, football and cricket pitches, as well as our netball courts. We have a well-equipped gymnasium, and our swimming pool offers the best of both worlds, with a retractable roof giving shelter in the winter and outdoor swimming in the warmer summer months, so our children really do have the opportunity to enjoy sport all year round.
Inside, all classrooms are equipped with the very latest in interactive technology. We have a dedicated ICT suite in the pre-prep school and a newly refurbished ICT facility in the prep school. The newly-renovated suite, kindly donated by the du Maurier Society is equipped with the latest touch screen computer technology allowing us to deliver the new National Curriculum syllabus with increased emphasis on computer programming.
New Buildings
In September 2015 we were delighted to open our new classroom block for Year 3 and 4 pupils. Work has also commenced on our magnificent new performing arts centre, which is due to be completed in Spring 2017.
