Gretton School is an independent specialist day and residential school providing individually tailored programmes of education, care and therapy for 124 boys and girls aged 5—19 years with Autism Spectrum Condition, high functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
As an NAS (National Autistic Society )-accredited school, Gretton School provides a calm and purposeful atmosphere where consistent daily routines and staffing helps to keep anxiety at a minimum and ensures that students feel safe and confident in their surroundings. Class sizes (average between 5–7) are small with high staff to student ratios. The curriculum is enriched with real-life opportunities to learn with trips, visits and outings. And learning is extended beyond the National Curriculum through weekly 'Special Interests’ sessions.

Greton School has NAS (The National Autistic Society) Autism Accreditation.
This special school for autism is offering residential accommodation from January 2011, which
will focus on enabling pupils to develop key life skills and greater
independence. Each home group will have a co-ordinator whose task it is to
safeguard the well-being and welfare of the pupils, and supervise all staff
attached to the house. Each pupil will have their own single bedroom and will be
encouraged to personalise it. In addition, there will be waking night staff to ensure
the pupils’ safety and wellbeing. Breakfast and supper will be taken in the home
groups, where young people will be encouraged to take part in preparing meals and
washing up. Older pupils will plan and shop for food as part of their preparation for
Innovative
adult life.
