In 1970 Exeter Technical College became the UK’s first Tertiary College, bringing together the former grammar schools' sixth forms and Exeter Technical College to provide all post-16 education and training for the city of Exeter with approximately 6,000 young people and adults and 130 teaching staff.
In the colleges 40th year (2010 – 11) the college educated and trained over 11,000 young people and adults, full time and part time, from the city of Exeter, Devon and the South West
All accommodation options of this top boarding high school are safe and secure and located within 30 minutes travel of the city centre. Living away from home can seem daunting at first but it’s a great way to make new friends and experience living independently. This international boarding school offers different accommodation options to suit differing budgets and tastes. If you are aged 16 to 18 and from a non EU/EAA Country we recommend that you stay with our friendly host families in a room of your own who will welcome you in to their homes and provide a safe and comfortable place for you to stay . Every host family has been visited by a member of college staff and is located within 30 minutes of the college. Host families will give you the opportunity to practise your English, to learn more about life in the UK as well as helping you intergrate in to life in Exeter. They will provide you with breakfast, lunch (packed lunch during college week) and dinner throughout the week. The cost for this is £130 per week.
