Bromsgrove's Sixth Form is larger than most with some four hundred pupils. This great British boarding School is deliberately configured so that many pupils can join us at sixteen. To a great extent, the academic results, IB, A level and BTEC options, Oxford and Cambridge successes, and fruitful applications to Russell group and other top universities account for this popularity. Lower Sixth pupils studying A level and BTEC qualifications must also participate in an enrichment Core Programme. The aim of this programme is to allow Lower Sixth pupils the opportunity to develop their breadth of knowledge and understanding across a broad curriculum. Independent learning will be encouraged with a final extended project opportunity and a lecture week after the examination period in the summer. All pupils will be able to take part in debates and also to experience more university-style lectures as part of the programme. This Top UK boarding school takes the preparation of pupils for Oxbridge entrance very seriously and, indeed, the programme for such pupils is a continuation of the extension courses we run from the Lower Fourth to the Fifth form. Bromsgrovians have studied a huge range of subjects at Oxford and Cambridge, and that proud tradition continues today.

Bromsgrove is one of the UK’s foremost independent boarding schools – a charity governed by a board of Governors which was founded in 1553 in the North Worcestershire market town of Bromsgrove. Bromsgrove was one of the original HMC public schools and has a rich and successful history of producing well educated students who go on to top universities and beyond.
The School has invested heavily in new boarding, sports and academic facilities over recent years. State-of-the-art, architecturally striking facilities sit alongside a range of beautiful older buildings some dating back to the 1600s. Academic life
University of London International Foundation Programme (IFP) at Bromsgrove School
University of London’s International Foundation Programme (IFP), will be studied over 2 terms, September to April, including 2 reading weeks and a break for the Christmas holidays. This course is aimed at students who are looking to attain entry to the best universities, having at least achieved well in 6 GCSEs or their local equivalent already. They must be between 17-19 years old by the December of the year they join, as this is closer to a Year 13 equivalent course, than Year 12. The application process will be very similar to the Sixth Form application. Students will have the opportunity to participate in many of Bromsgrove School’s excellent extra-curricular activities, as well as benefiting from our excellent pastoral care, EAL department, and the opportunity to work with our careers tutors to create successful university applications. The final exams in April are set and marked by the University of London and graduation will be at the Barbican, London.
