Bolles School in Jacksonville Florida is one of biggest day and boarding schools in this American state. International students who attend Bolles are expected to have a working
knowledge of English.  For those students who are not fluent, the School
offers English as a Second Language (ESL) instead of or in addition
to standard English courses.  Fluency will come as a result of immersion
into this culture.  To encourage language acquisition, international
students are placed, whenever possible, with English-speaking roommates. Boys and girls boarding.
Shuttle buses transport middle school male boarding students to the
Bartram Campus for school and other activities. The boarding program
includes structured study time, room inspection, and daily academic
counseling. Students immersed in this culturally diverse environment
learn self-discipline, respect for others, and cooperation. The Bartram Campus is home to approximately 30 female boarders, along
with resident staff members and their families, nestled in a picturesque
wooded setting along Pottsburg Creek.
Upper School Athletics. Recognized as one of the top programs in the nation, Bolles continues a
strong tradition of excellence in upper school athletics.  Bolles teams
have won a total of 107 team state titles in 15 different sports, along
with 77 state runner-up finishes.  In 2009, ESPN RISE ranked Bolles as the #1 boys’ athletic program in the country and MaxPreps named Bolles the third best overall athletic program nationally in the same year. In 2005, Sports Illustrated
ranked Bolles as the ninth best athletic program out of 38,000 high
schools in the nation over the previous 10 years. Bolles earned a
statewide all-sports award for the 33rd year in 2013. Bolles won the
Florida High School Athletic Association’s Sunshine Cup for the 18th
year in 2013, earning the award for 11 consecutive years from 1995-2005
and again from 2007-13. Bolles also claimed the Florida Athletic Coaches
Association’s Carey E. McDonald All-Sports Award for 26 consecutive
years, beginning in 1980 until the FACA stopped awarding the trophy in
2005.

Bolles offers 24 varsity level sports over three seasons. Eight sports
compete in the fall, five in the winter, and 11 in the spring. There are
13 sports in which boys can participate and eleven for girls. Junior
varsity opportunities are available in 17 sports and 15 sports are
non-cut. At least one non-cut sport occurs during each season. Bolles
remains committed to offering as wide a range of athletic opportunities
as possible to its students.
