Westonbirt School is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11 to 18 located near Tetbury in Gloucestershire in South West England. Founded in 1928, it is a member of the Allied Schools organisation. About the school

Westonbirt enjoys excellent modern teaching and sports facilities including a £3m Sports Centre with 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a state of the art Music Technology Suite, a Business Centre and nine-hole golf course. Girls enjoy riding lessons at nearby stables and polo at neighbouring Beaufort Polo Club. Music and drama are at the heart of the School with pupils regularly performing outstanding productions to sell out audiences

Boarding houses are homely and offer exceptional pastoral care. The sixth form has a separate boarding house with university style study rooms. Westonbirt is one of the few boarding schools to offer a full programme of fun activities every weekend.

Academic life

Results in 2017 included, for GCSE, 22% A* grades 48% A*-A grades and, for A level, 29% A*-A grades and 56% A*-B grades. At GCSE, 100% of papers were graded A*-B for German, RE, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Music. In 2017, students progressed from the Sixth Form to top Russell Group universities including UCL, University of Exeter, University of Leeds, King’s College London, Cardiff University, University of Birmingham and University of Nottingham
