Wellington Senior School is a co-educational boarding and day school for pupils from 11 – 18 years. Wellington Prep School is adjacent to the Senior School and is a coeducational day school of 230 pupils from age 2 – 11.
Wellington is a leading co-educational day and boarding school with over 180 students in its sixth form. Wellington offers a broad and balanced education with a wide range of GCSE, IGCSE and A-level subjects. Wellington also offers a one-year GCSE course for up to 16 international students. This programme allow students aged 15 or 16 outside UK to complete GCSE courses in one year and then proceed to stedy A Levels and move on to top UK universities.
GCSE courses norally take 2 years but using intensive teaching methods, modern facilities and working with students in small groups, Wellington School is able to prepare students for this examinsitions and A Level study in just one year, whilst still achieving excellent academic results.
Wellington School offers GSE examinations in a range of subjects. All students study English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and a combinged Economics and Business Course. It may also be possible for some studnets to study Art, Design Technoogy or Biology.

140 boys and girls accomodated in four boarding houses. All students live in comfortable, modern boarding houses and are cared for by dedicated house staff. Each boarding house has a Housemaster or Housemistress, Matron and academic tutors who will keep in regular contact with pupils and their parents. In such a caring, communal setting, every pupil truly matters and we strive to ensure the happiness of all the pupils in our care. For added reassurance, the School has a Health Centre with 24 hour cover and regular visits from the school doctor.
A dedicated member of staff leads the group as a tutor and is the first point of contact for any academic or pastoral queries. They will also take the group to local activities and to experience cultural events.

Considerable emphasis is placed on outdoor activities (including Army, Navy and RAF Combined Cadet Force) and on sport, enhanced by the £2m Princess Royal Sports Complex. There are extensive playing fields, a floodlit Astroturf pitch, an indoor swimming pool and a dedicated fencing salle.
Music and drama flourish and the School has extensive facilities including a music school, drama studio and theatre.
Junior Academic Course, Ages 10 to 12 (2,4,6,8, weeks)
The Junior Course runs similarly to the Pre-GCSE (The General Certificate of Secondary Education) but there is an additional half day of a local excursion. Some of these trips may include indoor and outdoor climbing, caving, water raft building, and coastal walks. There is a full programme of cultural visits, sports and social activities. This is a full- time course with activities every day, including weekends. It is run by Etherton Education, founded in 2002 and with an excellent reputation for preparing students for study in UK schools.
Pre-GCSE course, Ages 13 – 15 ( 2,4,6,8 weeks)
Students take a compulsory programme of English and drama, plus 10 other subjects. Science is taught in laboratories and you are able to conduct scientific, hands-on experiments. Teachers in all subjects focus on technical English vocabulary and introduce British study skills. 9 hours a week in English lessons, which include oral presentations, research projects and every day conversational English.
Fast Track Pre-GCSE, Ages 15-16 ( 6 weeks)
