Introduction
Read School in Selby, North Yorkshire is a co-educational school for boys and girls in United Kingdom. Read School is now a fully independent boarding and day school for boys and girls, and its is a small, caring school with a great passion and mission to be fulfilled. At our school you will never be left alone and immediately you will become a member of our great school community. Everyone is important and everyone makes a contribution for the good of the school. Our school is located in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire, and is a school with a long and proud history, and it was founded in 1667 by the local lawyer and philanthropist Charles Reade.
We can offer a great choice of academic studies at GCSE and ‘A’ Level, combined with a full programme of sports, drama, music, CCF and recreational and extra curricular activity. We represent only the highest standards which are reflected in each and every aspect of our school life.
We welcome students with all kinds of abilities both boys and girls and we know that we can help them to achieve high grades in public examinations.
The Sixth Form is an important time for academic study, for each child. It is often one of the main preparations for the university application. Many of our students have been at Read for quite a time before entering the Sixth Form. For us it is crucial that the Sixth Form is something far more than just another developing experience and another extension of the usual school.
