Introduction

For over 40 years the SSTH Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality has prepared young people for their professional career, with a particular focus on hospitality, gastronomy and management.

SSTH is unique in that the school has two parallel divisions on campus, studying in either the English or the German language. Undergraduate programs lead to a Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality Management.
Our academic co-operations allow students to complete part of their degree program with university partners in the United States, Scotland, or Germany. SSTH also offers high quality post graduate programs for suitable applicants.

Tourism and hospitality is the world's fastest-growing job-creating industry. Our programs, at all educational levels, have a strong leaning towards hands-on experience at the beginning, to support management skills developed in subsequent semesters.

SSTH graduates have all the required skills to successfully start, a top quality international hospitality management career.

The perfect location, right in the middle of the Alps, but also close to a major city, makes study very enjoyable. The campus hosts students from over 40 different countries, making it a crossroads of many cultures, languages and interests.

About the school

The School Hotel is a real ‘gem'. This is partly due to its location and panoramic alpine views, the historic architecture dating from the ‘Belle Époque' era, and the building's unique history as a health resort with healing waters. The beautiful main building still retains its old world charm with elegant dining rooms and a large, sunny terrace. Additionally, they have added a host of modern academic and training facilities, allowing for the excellent hands-on education that SSTH is famous for. With a new gym, a recreation room, and even an in-house night club, leisure time facilities are also part of the School Hotel experience.

The school hotel offers rooms in different categories for double or single use. Many have a wonderful view over the city of Chur and the mountains. Some even have a terrace. All rooms are fully furnished, including telephone and wireless internet connection. Laundry facilities are available 24/7, and a dry cleaning service is available.

Accommodation include full board service with a continental breakfast buffet, a 3-course menu for lunch and a light buffet for dinner on Monday through to Friday. On weekends, students enjoy a brunch and a large dinner buffet.

Location Description

campus is located just above the beautiful city of Chur – the oldest city in Switzerland – approximately 120 km from Zürich, and close to Germany, Austria and Italy. With well-known holiday resorts such as St. Moritz, Davos, Laax or Arosa just around the corner, you will study and live in the midst of exciting, scenic, and diversified surroundings.

By car
Take the motorway exit Chur/Süd and drive in the direction Lenzerheide. After by-passing Chur on the main road towards Lenzerheide, on the second sharp right hand bend turn left towards Tschiertschen/Passugg. Following the road and after passing the Passugger Mineral water factory on the left hand side, you will arrive at the School hotel Passugg after approx. 500 m.

By public transport
Take the train to Chur (main station). The bus stop is located on the upper deck of the main station in Chur (Postautodeck). Take the bus to Tschiertschen. Get off the bus after approx. 10 minutes at the bus stop "Passugg, alte Post" right in front of the school hotel.
