Seminar for Advanced English Studies, is a study programme founded by Janet Muth-Dunford in 1973 and continuously refined ever since.
SAES offers courses for students attending 7th – 13th grade, preparing them for the German Abitur or the International Baccalaureate. Courses are designed to effectively prepare students specifically for the next level at school. The courses are divided into three separate school programmes:.

Oxford Summer School
The Oxford Summer School specialises in preparing pupils for their final Abitur exam or international equivalents such as the Matura.
Accomodation
St. Hilda’s College is a place where students can feel at home: comfortable rooms, pleasant surroundings close to the city centre with all that has to offer. Students and staff live on campus, the alternative being accommodation in carefully selected host families. College accommodation is in single rooms and includes breakfast as well as a warm lunch. Host families provide three meals a day with a packed lunch for daytime at school and a warm meal in the evenings.
Oxford has a wealth of leisure activities on offer ranging from cultural to sporting and traditional pastimes in the form of punting. There is no excuse for being bored. Excursions are organised to various local attractions as well as a day trip to London. On the final evening of the course there is a farewell party where certificates are handed out and many tears spilled.

Cambridge Summer School
The Cambridge Summer School allows students to choose from four separate courses:
Middle School Programme (MSP) for younger students with 3 years of English
Upper School Preparation (USP)
Upper School Preparation Plus (USPP)
Pre-Boarding and IB Preparation (PBIBP)
The Cambridge programme is structured to ensure that students gain confidence in English and are well prepared for the next level of their learning.
Accomodation
The school is based in Newnham House where students are also accommodated. Newnham House is an elegant house in the grounds of Corpus Christi, a very beautiful and traditional college at Cambridge University set in beautiful grounds with rose gardens and orchards in the middle of Cambridge.
Activities
SAES combines fun and exciting leisure activities with effective language learning. Every second week a trip to London is organised. School also offers trips to the English coast and local beauty spots and take advantage of the many interesting events in and around the splendid old medieval city of Cambridge. Cambridge is also a city for sport. For instance, volleyball, tennis, fitness, cricket, golf and swimming.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PROGRAMME
IB Tutorial College prepares students for the International Baccalaureate as an alternative to the Abitur or other European specific school leaving certificates. The IB Diploma as an internationally recognised certificate of further education is gaining increasing popularity in Europe as a whole. Courses are designed to combine intensive classes in small groups with a maximum of five students per class with private (one to one) lessons in the specific subjects of the students‘ choice. This format creates an effective and personal student-centred learning atmosphere and ensures that each student can develop their full potential.
