About the school

At Rye St Antony we are fortunate enough to be situated on a beautifully scenic wooded site that extends to 12 acres, yet we are less than a mile away from Oxford City Centre. Within the grounds are two substantial Victorian buildings, one of which was built by the same architect who designed the Natural History Museum, Alfred Waterhouse. As well as the main school buildings there is a drama and music block, science block, the Food Technology and ICT building and a purpose built sports hall. The King Library’s picture windows have one of the best views onto our front lawns – an inspiring place to study. Recently we completed a spacious, light and welcoming new reception area which is part of a £2m building project to improve facilities at the school. Our extensive building project has also included the building of a new Food Technology suite complete with large kitchen and ICT centre housing a comprehensive range of ICT equipment including numerous computers, projector screens, scanners and printers. Girls at Rye benefit from teaching in four purpose-built senior laboratories in the Sumpter building and a junior science laboratory for the younger pupils. The senior laboratories are separately dedicated to the individual subjects of chemistry, physics, biology and a further general science room.

Girls at this top UK boarding schools have a choice of choosing full boarding, weekdays-only or flexi-boarding. There are many after school and dinner activities to keep the girls happy and for them to have a relaxed and enjoyable boarding experience. These include baking, sport, swimming and art.
