It is a private girls only boarding school for girls aged 11 to 18. Excellent school with top facilities! The campus is situated near the Sussex Downs, on a cliff overlooking Brighton Marina and the English Channel. The school incorporates dance studios, music classrooms, a 320-seat theatre, a heated indoor swimming pool, a golf course, a private tunnel to the beach, a farm and a chapel, as well as a range of workshops, studios, laboratories and sports pitches. This is a truly international boarding school for girls. About the school

We aim to inspire and challenge every student to develop her strengths and passions, seek the highest academic and personal standards for herself, and develop a strong foundation for her future. We also seek to enable you to develop lifelong friendships, a strong sense of belonging, and a sense of pride in yourself and your school.

Let us identify a number of school options for your children

  • We will help you to identify your family priorities and find the best potential schools fit.
  • We will approach those schools on your behalf
  • We work with you through the full process, help with admission procedures and stay with you until your children finish their boarding school education.

Academic life

Our specialist teachers are talented, dedicated and, most importantly, infectiously passionate about their subjects. This helps ensure that lessons are purposeful, yet relaxed; with strong professional relationships between teachers and students enabling productive learning that’s paced to individual needs.

As an important milestone in the school journey, GCSE choices enable students to pursue subjects which suit their particular preferences but without any significant specialisation at this time. To ensure that your daughter’s GCSE programme provides her with a broad, balanced education, consistent with the aims of the school, the National Curriculum and the requirements for university entrance, students must take:

  • an integrated English Language and Literature course (examined as two separate GCSE subjects)
  • Mathematics
  • either the Double Certificate Combined Sciences (which counts as two GCSEs) or the Triple Certificate Separate Sciences (which counts as three GCSEs)
  • at least one from Geography and History
  • at least one modern foreign language from French, German, Russian and Spanish
  • To this core curriculum, students should add further subjects from the list below, carefully selected to reflect their interests and future ambitions. We recommend that students choose to take nine GCSEs in total, and only in exceptional circumstances, ten.

Sport and culture

The development program is pupil-centered with pupils taking part in a rotation of activities in single PE including, strength and conditioning, gymnastics, tennis, athletics and swimming. Double PE lessons follow the major sports route, with Hockey in the Autumn Term, Netball in the Spring and Cricket in the Summer. Games offers the opportunity for weekly fixtures during Year 7 and 8 and a variety of choices from Year 10 onwards. The co-curricular program is peppered with squad practices and 21 different activities, including karate, fencing, horse-riding, golf, tennis, yoga and gymnastics. Pupils leave with the knowledge and understanding that taking part in physical activity is important for their mental, social and physical health, as well as leaving with the skills to be able to put this into practice. Community-led events that bring the school together are at the very heart of the department, such as Race for Life, parents’ and daughters’ tennis, family rounders, staff-versus-student netball and hockey fixtures, Old Roedeanian Sea-Swimming, and House netball and hockey matches. They echo the department’s belief that we are a pupil-centered school with a pupil-centered Sport department who believes in your daughter’s journey, whatever that may be.
