Founded in 1889, Ridley College is a coeducational boarding and day school located on a beautiful 90-acre campus in St. Catharines, Ontario, an hour drive from Toronto and ten minutes from Niagara Falls. Students range from JK through grade 12 (with boarding beginning in Grade 5) and come from 60 countries worldwide. With over 380 boarders, Ridley has the largest boarding programme in Ontario and is one of Canada’s oldest and most prestigious boarding schools.
“World Prep” is what you find here: a forward-looking and rigorous programme that prepares students for a university education and a promising future. Ridley is one of only three International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum boarding schools in North America, offering the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme. In addition to the IB Programme, Ridley offers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a wide range of summer programmes, including our ESL credit programme. Ridley graduates go on to study at some of the top colleges and universities in Canada, the United States, and internationally, and are equipped with the knowledge and skills for success.
Beyond academics is a diverse extracurricular programme in the arts, athletics, leadership, and community service. One of the defining features of Ridley is the traditional house system, which integrates both boarding and day students into 10 boarding houses on campus, each with its own unique identity and sense of community. By incorporating our local day students into the boarding programme, Ridley provides students with a perfect balance of global cultures and a uniquely Canadian experience.
