More House School is day and boarding school that provides high quality education and pastoral care for boys aged 8-18 who might be bright, but struggle in mainstream schools due to a Specific Learning Difficulty. This special boarding school is dedicated to helping boys with a range of learning difficulties and styles, who require a small, supportive learning environment to flourish.
The largest school of its kind in Britain, More House offers a full range of specialist support, particularly for boys with specific learning and language-based difficulties, including Dyslexia, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). More House School provides full boarding, weekly boarding and day places, with 500 students on roll.
All boys who attend More House are individually timetabled with many receiving support through the on-site Learning Development Centre and through the curriculum which challenges each of their strengths while helping them to fulfil their academic potential. The school has also been recognised as one of the top 600 schools in the country for GCSE Music by the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
Nestled into the Surrey Hills, the school sits amidst beautiful countryside but is just a five minute drive from the centre of Farnham

This boarding school’s approach to learning offers a wide and varied curriculum tailored to suit the individual needs and talents of all our pupils. The carousel of GCSE option subjects, offered during year 9, helps the boys to make informed choices about which subjects to study to GCSE, culminating in public examinations.
This special education needs boarding school is an approved centre for exams offered by AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and CIE, and it is constantly reviewing the syllabuses offered by each exam board to ensure that we are providing the most suitable programme of learning for our students.
All More House pupils are assessed in the Learning Development Centre before an exam series to ensure they receive the correct support for their individual needs, in order for them to gain full access to the exam papers and controlled assessments or coursework, and to do themselves justice in their answers.
An outstanding multi-therapeutic approach is central to the education pupils receive. Therapists, such as occupational therapists, a cognitive behaviour therapist and speech and language therapists, work in close partnership with teaching and boarding staff to ensure that pupils receive seamless support. Pupils are highly appreciative of the therapeutic services they receive and how these help them in their lives.
