Day pupils, flexi boarders and full boarders all share a close sense of community with the House system forming a central hub of life. 62% of pupils board and we provide an extended school day for all pupils and a full school day on Saturday, with lessons in the morning and sport or clubs in the afternoon. Children participate in over 60 clubs and societies meeting every week and compete in more than 400 sports fixtures each year. Our academic standards are high across a broad curriculum and pupils are stretched without being stressed, to achieve their potential and personal best. At GCSE 66% of grades were A* to B with over half of our GCSE pupils achieving A* grades. At A Level, 68% of grades were A* to B with 60% of pupils receiving offers to Russell Group/1994 universities and taking up places at leading specialist schools including the Royal Northern College of Music. Pupils also received exceptional results in their EPQs with over 75% achieving an A/A* grade. The junior and senior schools are on the same site, providing a seamless education from 3 to 18 years and boarding available from the age of 9. A structured programme of activities is also in place for boarders on Saturday evenings and Sundays. Academic results are strong with 60% of Year 13 students gaining Russell Group University offers and many achieving Oxbridge interviews. Our academic programme is complemented by a wide range of co-curricular activities, from sport and outdoor pursuits to music, art, drama, debating, and service in the community.
