The Good Schools Guide called the school an „Extremely popular and successful traditional prep school,” also stating „It is a somewhat eccentric world with some delightfully eccentric teachers, and makes a welcome home for boys of every variety.”

The school’s Christian ethos helps to promote a warm and caring environment. At this top boys only boarding school pupils have opportunities to pursue a huge range of activities outside the classroom from the conventional – such as sport, music, art and drama – to the exciting that many boys sadly cannot enjoy – such as den-making, shooting, rowing, sailing and fishing.
