Introduction

Do you want to find an appropriate small boarding schools in America? Here we present Verde Valley School in Sedona, Arizona! This is one of top IB schools in USA! There are many advantages for students who earn the IB diploma as well as for those who participate in an IB curriculum. For one, its world-class academic standards are accepted throughout the world at selective universities, making it a passport to higher education. Universities around the world welcome the unique characteristics of students who have earned an IB diploma and recognize the way in which the program helps to prepare students for university-level education. IB students routinely gain admission to some of the most prestigious universities in the world, most of which have established recognition policies for the IB diploma. Field trips. When Ham Warren dreamt up Verde Valley School he chose our location based on its proximity to the indiginous tribes of Mexico to the south and the Native American tribes of Northern Arizona to the north. In the early days students became antrhopolgosist during two-three week trips to each of these locations through the VVS Field Trip Program. While the Field Trip program has changed a bit since those early years what remains the same are the life-changing experiences that students and faculty have on these trips: observing a Hopi Kiva Dance, tracing Jack Kerouac's steps through Northern California, or hiking the Grand Canyon to name just a few. Many options are available each year, but in each case the objective is either to engage directly in the lives of people whose values and life experiences are different from those generally considered "mainstream", or to give practical expression to the ideal of environmental stewardship and service to humanity. Culture and Service in Los Angeles A substantial percentage of the world’s population now lives in cities. Though our Field Trip program offers many opportunities for outdoor experiences in the natural environment, we believe that true international and intercultural understanding cannot be achieved without devoting some attention to the urban environment. The Culture and Service in Los Angeles trip is designed to expose students to a wide range of cultural offerings in the Los Angeles area, from music to visual art to theater to literature. Los Angeles is threatening to overtake New York as the center of the American art world; affordable live music is available in an endless variety of styles; the theater scene is thriving! At the same time, the trip stays close to the mission of the school -- almost half of students' time will be spent in physical labor, service to others, and environmental stewardship (sometimes all at once!). L.A. provides endless opportunities for service. Among other things, students will volunteer for beach cleanup, work at soup kitchens and homeless shelters, and engage in gang-related service work.American University, Arizona State University, Babson College, Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, California Institute of the Arts, Case Western Reserve University, Clark University, Dartmouth College, Drexel University, Indiana University, Johns Hopkins University, Pennsylvania State University , Purdue University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rice University, Savannah College of Art & Design, Smith College, Stanford University, Syracuse University, University of Arizona, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC San Diego, University of Chicago, University of Illinois, University of Miami, University of Texas, Austin, Vanderbilt University.
