Sheridan School is a specialist therapeutic school for boys and girls aged 8-18 years old with complex needs which include social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Some of the young people in our care have additional needs such as autism, post-traumatic stress disorder or attachment disorder. This therapeutic boarding school can cater for up to 60 pupils from primary through to secondary level. Sheridan School has one associated children’s home which can provide 38 and 52 week residential care. Pupils of this therapeutic boarding school have access to a range of professional therapies including: child and adolescent psychiatry; educational psychology; behavioural, art, speech & language, occupational and family therapies. Education is seen as an integral part of an individual's placement plan, with each young person being helped to experience success. Education is provided on-site in the purpose-built school. Small teaching groups allow for a high level of specialist support.
The curriculum of this therapeutic boarding school is based on the Independent School Standards and meets all of the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum.

This residential therapeutic school provides education from Key Stages 2 to 5:
Key Stage 2
We have a primary approach to our KS2 leaning. There are specialist teachers who work with the students, focusing on different subject areas. The emphasis is on engagement and creativity.
Key Stage 3
Learning takes account of the particular barriers and vulnerabilities of each learner. The balance between cross-curricular and subject-specific themes will depend on the engagement and interest of the learner. Where appropriate, early entry into accredited programmes such as Entry Level will be arranged in order to re-engage and motivate.
Key Stage 4
Students have the opportunity to follow a more flexible curriculum. Academic qualifications are offered via Entry Level and GCSE examinations in a range of subjects. Vocational qualifications are also made available.
Key Stage 5
Students of this therapeutic boarding school have the opportunity to build on their GCSE results and/or take part in NCFE qualifications to help them further their future.
This special residential boarding school as educational establishment is inspected on a regular basis by Ofsted (a government department - Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills). Sheridan School (2016) is rated “good” (on a four-point scale: outstanding, good, satisfactory, inadequate)

All assurance and governance of quality, safety and compliance are provided by the Priory Group with additional regulatory visits regularly carried out by experienced independent visitors.
Sheridan House School, in rural Norfolk opened in October 1983 as an independent residential special school for boys and moved to its current, new premises in 2009. In July 2012, the school extended its age range to accommodate boys and girls aged between eight and 19 years with capacity to take up to 40 students accessing full-time education.
