scored a clean sweep of A*/A grades for all of their exams with four
students scoring all A* grades. 76% of the entries by Upper Sixth Form
students obtained A*, A and B grades, and the School also continued to
achieve the overall 100% pass rate for A Levels that they have enjoyed
in recent years. 13% of the entries gained an A* grade, well above the
national average; 46% gained an A* or A grade. Subjects deserving
special mention for consistently high achieving students include:
English Literature, Art, History, Economics, Graphic Design &
Photography. Numbers sitting the traditionally harder Maths and Science A
Levels carry on rising and the results here continue to impress.
Excellent GCSE results were recorded with 65% of entries being
awarded A* and A grades. 27 students (over a quarter of the year group)
gained at least 8 GCSEs at A* or A grades and all students at the school
passed at least five GCSEs in A* - C grades. The majority of boys took 9
subjects with an overall average of 8.8 passes each. Four students -
Stanley Hau, Leo Petty, Josh Southern and Daniel Steeden gained a clean
sweep of 9 A* grades. These results are the second best ever for Reed's,
nearly matching the 66% A*/A grades awarded in 2009. Of note is the
fact that all of the 37 pupils who took GCSE Chemistry as a separate
science achieved A* grades! This further cements the Science and
Technology initiatives that Reed’s is developing.
