Queen Margaret's is an independent day and boarding school for girls age 11–18 in Escrick Park near York, England. Queen Margaret’s is an independent school for independent girls. About the school

  • Dorm facilities:

    There are six houses: Garry, Pitlochry, Duncan, QM Hall, School and St Aidans. Each pupil and teacher is assigned to one of the houses based on year group and age. Each house is run by a teacher as Head of House. Inter-house competitions include those for sport and music. Around 80% of pupils are boarders. They are assigned to a boarding house. Accommodation meets the needs of each age group: Year I girls live in a large, comfortable family house with its own garden and playground, while Upper Sixth girls live independently in picturesque cottages in the School grounds.

Sport and culture

  • Sport Facilities:

    Exceptional facilities of this boarding school in Yorkshire include an AstroTurf, sports hall, competition swimming pool, all-weather tennis courts, squash courts, a nine-hole golf course and a riding school adjacent to the main School campus. Main winter activities include: lacrosse, cross country, swimming, hockey and netball. Summer sports include: athletics and rounders, riding. Badminton, tennis and squash are played at all levels.
