MPW is one of the country's best known independent sixth-form college groups with colleges in London, Birmingham and Cambridge
MPW has been welcoming international students ( age 14 -18+) for more than 15 years. With around 150 spaces for new international students available each year across the Group, MPW has a vibrant international community that benefits from interacting with the predominantly British student body. This provides an ideal learning environment for our international students to establish the language and cultural skills needed to succeed in the highly competitive world of higher education.
Strategically located in London, Birmingham and Cambridge with close proximity to prestigious university campuses, each MPW college offers a unique campus environment and student life, yet employs a common teaching methodology to help our international students achieve high academic standards and gain entry to the world's most prestigious universities.

At MPW, they believe one size does not fit all. With tailored programmes and small class teaching (guarantee of fewer than 10 students in any class), students benefit from personal attention and extra one-to-one tuition. Tutors are highly qualified to first degree or doctoral level and many are A level or GCSE examiners for the subjects that they teach. Students are taught in an exam-focused fashion and they are given course notes written by tutors to help them better prepare for the final examinations.
At MPW, each student is assigned to a Director of Studies whose role is to supervise students' general welfare and academic performance. For university applications, the Director of Studies is there to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, to identify areas that need to be reflected in the application form and to help students put together a very powerful personal statement which will make them stand out in a competitive field.
Over the years many of international students have successfully applied to the world's most important universities including Cambridge and Oxford.
MPW offers a wide range of courses from comprehensive A Level courses, GCSE courses, University of London International Foundation Programme to the NCUK International Foundation Year. All the MPW colleges are UKVI Tier 4 Sponsors.
The college provides a high number of enrichment opportunities for students. A travel fund allows students to visit many places of interest and the curriculum is enhanced by a wide range of educational visits.
MPW students are diverse and friendly, and most take full advantage of the huge number of extra -curricular activities and projects on offer. Getting involved in a college related activity is a great way to make friends, develop and demonstrate your skills and interests and help you stand out from the crowd when you apply to university.
If you like playing sport, you are welcome to join rugby or football teams. The MPW rugby union team has enjoyed great success in the London Sixth Form Colleges Rugby League and so far this season they are unbeaten in the league. There are match reports on the rugby union page.
MPW has also offered football as an activity for many years. The team continues to enjoy a high degree of interest amongst students and success on the field.
If football or rugby doesn’t interest you, you might like to try basketball, golf, tennis, rock climbing, dance or yoga.
If you prefer something more cerebral, you can learn a new language or instrument, take part in our debating competitions, produce and edit the college newsletter and magazine or help organise our annual charity gala evening and Art and Photography Exhibitions.
All students are offered a full programme of careers-related seminars given by speakers eminent in their field. These inspiring talks are particularly pertinent when a student is formulating university choices.
Apart from the organised activities, MPW’s enviable location offers easy access to South Kensington's world-class museums, including the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Hyde Park is a short walk away, and there is a professional gym nearby which MPW students can use free of charge.
Students can also apply for a Travel Scholarship. Awards of up to £1,000 are available to students who are planning worthwhile overseas trips for their summer vacations or Gap Years.
At each MPW college in 2017 the most commonly achieved (modal) A level grade was A/A* and over a third of examination entries were at this level. This trend has been consistent across the full MPW Group since 2015, in London since 2009 and in Cambridge since 2008. The colleges are also very successful in terms of value-add, which measures the distance travelled by students at A level relative to where they were at GCSE, and in their improvement of retake student grades, as reported by the Times and Sunday Time
