Our teachers are creative and innovative and lessons are never dull. The right balance between the oral and the written word is found according to the level of the group. Responsibility for the overall conduct and co-ordination of the language classes lies with the Director of Studies who ensures that the teaching programme runs smoothly and effectively.
Students on the Summer Course always say how much they enjoy their classes and how much they learn during their stay. The secret of this success lies in the fact that while lessons are a most important part of the course (classes being held every morning except Sundays) students are immersed in English around the clock while they are here. The learning process does not end in the classroom. All four language skills are consistently exploited throughout the day.
Naturally, the achievement of children varies according to their age, ability and length of stay. Upon arrival students are assessed and allocated to a teaching group suited to their grasp of English. During the course they are re-assessed and when progress is made students are moved to more advanced teaching groups. Over the years the school has found that even those who come as absolute beginners (with virtually no knowledge of the language) leave with the ability to speak and write basic English.
