About the school

Long description: Advanced Placement Brentwood’s versatile timetable allows qualified students at any grade level to take advantage of the many Advanced Placement options offered at our school. AP Examinations are offered annually in May throughout North America to give high school students opportunities to demonstrate college-level achievement. Over 1000 post-secondary institutions in the USA and Canada regularly grant advanced placement into a second year course or credit for the first year course, to students presenting AP examination grades of 4 or higher. Learning outside the classroom Brentwood is located directly beside the ocean and this gives Brentwood students an exciting opportunity. Just outside our doors students can observe wildlife and habitats, collect samples, and investigate biospheres and biomes, or simply to surround themselves with nature. This accessibility to the ocean, as well as annual trips to wilderness learning centers like Strathcona Park Lodge or Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, not only allows integration of marine biology and oceanography into our science programmes in a real and meaningful way, it allows our students to learn outside of the classrooms themselves.
