Fyling Hall School in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England is a co-ed boarding private school for boys and girls. This top English boarding school was founded over 90 years ago and it is set in the North York Moors National Park, with an image of Robin Hood’s Bay. GCSE
Most of the times we can offer around 15 subjects. Course programme is based on the plan which is prepared by the Examination Boards. Nowadays, we study courses determined by the following Examination Boards: Edexcel, AQA and OCR. All of the students of this top private boarding school need to follow a compulsory FUNDAMENTAL subjects: English Language, English Literature, Science, Mathematics, European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Later on they may then choose some additional 3 – 4 subjects from the following list: German, Geography, History, Sports Studies, Business Studies, French, Art and Design, Triple Award Science, Information and Communication Technology, Music, Drama, Design.
AS/A level
This independent boarding school offers some 14 subjects at AS level and most of these will be studied in the Upper Sixth to A2 (A-level). Again the programme and its content is determined by the Examination Boards and the study blocks are planned to involve as many students’ subject choices as possible. While entering the sixth form boarding school students are given a personal teacher, who is mainly responsible for their progress and academic involvement.
During the school days we provide our students with an opportunity of numerous excursions, some large for all pupils, others smaller to meet students’ particular interests. Generally, there are cultural visits to theatres, especially the Stephen Joseph in Scarborough, cinemas, historic sites and museums.
