Ashbourne College was founded in 1981 and remains one of the best private sixth form colleges in London. We offer high quality tuition coupled with an informal and friendly atmosphere allowing every student to feel happy, confident and able to reach their potential. Ashbourne’s three key strengths are exam success, individual attention and superb location.
Offers A-level and GCSE courses. The college is coeducational and is affiliated to the CIFE group of independent colleges. The students are drawn from all over the world, and currently has around half British and half International students. Most students take two-year A-Level courses, but there is also a small number of GCSE students (known as the Middle School). Ashbourne also offers Easter revision courses, available to both internal and external students. Ashbourne offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, ranging from critical thinking seminars and an astro particle physics club to Bollywood dancing and Go Karting. There is an annual Christmas revue and several overseas trips each year.

We work closely with each student to carve out a unique education programme that best suits their needs and ambitions, offering them the flexibility, choice and comprehensive support and guidance necessary to reach their goals. Students can choose from a wide selection of A level subjects and course lengths and receive tailored and expert guidance on applying to university.
Ashbourne embraces a friendly, informal but disciplined, adult approach to education. Students take lessons in small groups where they are encouraged to explore and test their ideas with the teacher and other students, becoming more independent thinkers. The small class sizes enable our teachers to offer greater individual attention, set more homework and provide feedback.
Ashbourne is happy to provide a list of hostels and homestays to which students may apply independently; it has no dedicated accommodation and is not a boarding school.
There are various accommodation options for anyone studying at Ashbourne. Nearby are several hostels where students from Ashbourne and other colleges reside. Students may also choose to stay with a host family where they can study whilst experiencing life as part of an English family. The College has about 75 students who live in these types of accommodation, with almost equal numbers in hostels and homestays.
